Several embassies are located on Massachusetts Avenue out past Rock Creek, as the avenue rises toward its intersection with Wisconsin Avenue. On its way there, the avenue bends around the National Observatory, site of the Vice President's residence. Nearby the intersection of the two avenues is the site of the National Cathedral.
The British Embassy is here, and nearby is a statue of Winston Churchill, the prime minister who brought the country through World War II, and a great friend of America.
